The Story

In the early period of Islam, depictions of living forms; human figures and animals, were discouraged. Soon after, the art of the written letters and words, known as calligraphy became the first and the most famous art style used to decorate the written text and in architecture in the Islamic region.

The geometrical calligraphy style in this work of art is Kufi, a very structured style dating back to pre-Islam then becoming prominent in the city of Kufa, Iraq in the 5th Islamic century, hence the name. The Kufi font has more than 20 different style varieties.

The Details

Each cushion is a cut out of a different section of the same artwork, giving you a one-of-a-kind silk cushion. Each cushion will have 2 different cuts for each of the sides making it even more individual and versatile. The piece you will receive may not be an exact match to the pieces you see here but it will certainly have the same feel.
